TeacherDesk Account & Data Deletion
LAST UPDATED: AUGUST 24, 2026
Important: Data Deletion Warning
Because TeacherDesk stores data 100% locally on your device for privacy and speed, deleting your workspace or uninstalling the app permanently purges all student rosters, grades, attendance logs, and MPIN settings. To preserve your data before uninstallation, export an encrypted JSON backup first.
Overview & Permanent Deletion
TeacherDesk operates as an offline-first educator workspace. We do not host central cloud copies of your classroom rosters or grades. Consequently, when you initiate a deletion, the erasure occurs immediately on your device and cannot be reversed by PMC Labs.
Recommended: Export JSON Backup First
If you are upgrading devices or reinstalling, create a portable backup before deleting:
- Open TeacherDesk and unlock your workspace with your MPIN or fingerprint.
- Navigate to Classroom Tools → Data & Storage Hub.
- Select Backup Vault to export a timestamped JSON archive.
- Save or transfer this file safely to an external drive or private storage.
In-App Deletion Steps
To purge your educator workspace and student records from within the app:
- Open TeacherDesk on your device.
- Go to Profile / Settings tab.
- Scroll to the Danger Zone section at the bottom.
- Tap Delete Workspace & Local Database.
- Type
DELETEto confirm.
The app will immediately wipe the local SQLite database, reset user preferences, and return to the initial onboarding screen.
What Gets Erased
The following data categories are permanently deleted from your hardware:
- All student rosters, biographical information, and student ID mappings.
- All attendance snapshots, status logs, and multi-date attendance matrices.
- All class gradebooks, assessment scores, and weighted grade formulas.
- All classroom desk seating charts and group allocations.
- All saved lesson plans, materials metadata, and calendar schedules.
- Educator profile credentials, PBKDF2 MPIN hashes, and security answers.
Uninstalling Without In-App Access
If you are unable to open the app or forgot your MPIN, uninstalling TeacherDesk via the Android Application Manager will completely erase all internal sandbox storage and database files automatically.
